Evaluating Topology Preservation in Dimensionality Reduction Methods for Metagenomic Data: A Comparative Analysis

Published in 2026 International Conference on Image Processing and Robotics (ICIPRoB), 2026

This work presents a comparative analysis of dimensionality reduction methods applied to metagenomic data, with a focus on how well each method preserves the topological structure of the original high-dimensional space. Faithful topology preservation is critical for downstream interpretation of microbial community data, and this study benchmarks several approaches to guide method selection for metagenomic analysis.
