A Review of Agent-Based Models of Housing Markets

Published in SocArXiv (Preprint), 2026

This review surveys the literature on agent-based models (ABMs) of housing markets. We examine the range of modelling approaches, their underlying assumptions, and the applications to which they have been put in understanding housing market dynamics, affordability, and policy. The review identifies gaps and opportunities for future agent-based housing market research.
